Congleton Group

  • Congleton Library

Congleton is a small industrial town set in dairy country close to the Peak Park in the south east of Cheshire. Its recent history is in the manufacturing of silk, and the industry attracted workers into the area in the nineteenth century. Our group consists of family history enthusiasts with a broad knowledge of national and local history. We have a library of local family history information, and there is a good local studies section in Congleton Library.

    Meetings

The Congleton Group normally meets on the third Tuesday of each month at Congleton Library starting at 7.30pm. There is ample parking, and access to the library is by the lower entrance. Non-members are welcome.
